Sara Koller is a meteorologist and performer. The focus of her artistic work is the body. She is fascinated by the body’s wealth of elements and challenges them. Taking risks is part of her investigation.
Important steps in her career were the degrees and training such as the Certificate of Advanced Studies in vocal training and diction at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) with Tillmann Braun, Oliver Mannel and Irmela Beyer or the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Performance at the Accademia Teatro Dimitri with Stéphanie Lupo.
During a three-month study she assimilated the Gaga Method. She completed the Batsheva Summer Intensive 2014 with dancers of the company and the choreographer Ohad Naharin.
She found particularly enriching the experience of the Butoh and the dissociation of dance form. For this reason she travelled to Japan where she spent five weeks at Kazuo Ohno Dance Studio in Yokohama to train with Yoshito Ohno.
The Art of Performance allows to address convictions and concerns. The performer is not locked into a role or restricted to the aesthetics of dance. She expresses political activity in poetry that goes under the skin. It touches on a level which can often not be grasped by the intellect. It is her conviction that the subtle touches more than the conspicuous.
